Associate Professor Glenn H. Jones is the Associate Dean of Academics at the National Defense University’s Joint Forces Staff College.
Professor Jones graduated from Christopher Newport College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts (Double Major in History in Political Science). A Distinguished Military Graduate, he served inthe Army for 25 years, retiring in 2008 as a Lieutenant Colonel. His assignments included the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade (Airborne) (1983-1986, 1993-1996, 2000-2001), U.S.Atlantic Command (1987-1991), 2nd Infantry Division (1991-1992), 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), Battle Command Training Program (BCTP), 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery. He joined the faculty of Joint Forces Staff College in 2003 and has taught in the Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JCWS) (2003-2009) and the Homeland Security Planner’s Course (HLSPC) (2009-2014). Professor Jones’ military decorations include: Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal and the Master Parachutist Badge. A 2008 recipient of the Recognition of Excellence Award and a designated JFSC Master Faculty, he received a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and is pursuing his doctoral studies in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
