MICHAEL J. MYERS

Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force
Military Faculty, Joint Command & Control Information Operations School (JC2IOS)

Lieutenant Colonel Michael J. Myers is currently serving as a military faculty member in the Joint Command, Control, and Information Operations School at the Joint Forces Staff College of the National Defense University. Prior to becoming an instructor, Lt Col Myers was the Commander of the 30th Space Communications Squadron at Vandenberg Air Force Base. There he led over 350 military, Department of Defense civilians, and contractors supporting the base and Western Range communications infrastructure in support of the Department of Defense’s space and missile test program. He leads the operations and maintenance of voice and network support for over 6,000 customers and the Air Force’s largest inventory of space launch and test range communications equipment. 

Lt Col Myers enlisted in the Navy in 1987 in the Seabees. In 1997, he earned his bachelor’s degree and was commissioned in the Air Force in 1999. Lt Col Myers performed a Joint tour at NORAD and NORTHCOM on Peterson AFB, Co as the J6 Portfolio manager for all the command deployable C2 communications projects and was certified as a Joint Service Officer. 

Prior to command at Vandenberg AFB, Lt Col Myers was the commander of the Pacific Air Forces Air Postal Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, where he was responsible for postal policy and operations supporting service to over 355,000 personnel throughout 38 postal facilities in the Pacific theater. He has recently completed a Master of Science degree in Cyber Warfare at AFIT. Lt Col Myers and his wife Anastasia have a son, Donato, and two daughters, Deannah and Danielle.
