Charles (Chuck) Davis
Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs
Charles (Chuck) Davis is currently a Professor at the Joint Forces Staff College, a component of the National Defense University, in Norfolk, VA. He holds a Ph.D. in International Studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia; a Master of Science in Business Organizational Management from the University of LaVerne; and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology.
Currently, Professor Davis serves as the Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs after having served as the Associate Dean of Academics and teaching for fifteen years first in the Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JCWS) and then in the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS).
After an Army career spanning 24 years, he retired as Lieutenant Colonel having held numerous command, staff, and planning positions to include multiple deployments to Iraq during Operations DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM and IRAQI FREEDOM and also to Afghanistan. Before retiring, Professor Davis served in three successive joint tours: as the J61 at United States Alaskan Command, as a C4I Project Manager in the Joint Systems Integration Command of United States Joint Forces Command, and finally as military faculty at the Joint Forces Staff College. He has served in the joint arena continuously for more than two decades and has published in both Joint Force Quarterly and Military Review.
