Dr. Kevin Generous, PhD.

Prior to joining the Joint Forces Staff College faculty in August 2021, Dr. Generous worked for 25 years as a defense policy analyst and consultant to the U.S. Government, defense industry, and non-profit entities. He has 17 years of prior teaching experience as a professor of government, international security, foreign policy, and regional studies. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of Connecticut, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Eastern Connecticut State University, and the United States Coast Guard Academy.
Dr. Generous holds a B.A. in International Relations, and a M.A. in Security Studies, from the George Washington University. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science (International Relations/American Politics) from the University of Connecticut. He also is a published military historian, research analyst, strategic planner, and founder/president of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization educating the American public on non-traditional security threats to the nation. His publications include Vietnam: The Secret War, a history of unconventional warfare and special operations in the Vietnam conflict, 1945-1975 (Bison Books, 1985, 2nd printing 1987). Dr. Generous has presented his research findings to various government organizations, the Intelligence Community, and at academic and professional symposia.
